About District 322F

History

Lions Clubs International District 322F
This District have been actively involved in various service projects including Five Eye Hospitals, an eye bank, a Blood Bank, Multiple computer Centres, various Health Centres, Diagnostics centre, Ambulances, Dead body carrying van, Dental clinic, Lions Cloak Tower etc. The Lion members, guided by our honourable Past District Governors and the Motto “WE SERVE” provide selfless service with dedication and devotion towards the cause of the needy.
Our Geographical location:
The Geographical area of Lions District 322F comprises the States of Sikkim, District of Malda, U/D Dinajpur, Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri and Coochbehar in the State of West Bengal (India) , and the country of Bhutan having membership strength of 2250 members with 70 clubs.
Besides above projects there are number of permanent centres such as pathology clinics, vocational training centres, child Eye care unit & health care centres, public utilities etc. The Lions Citizens Academy is coming up for providing quality education to children & Lions Magnum Vocational Centre for the Disabled.
The total number of eye operations currently being performed in our Eye hospitals is 12000 per year and the Blood Bank benefits almost 6000 patients annually.

History – How District 322F was born

District 322D had come into existence in 1979 comprising of the states of Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, Meghalaya, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Sikkim and Revenue Districts of Malda, Uttar Dinajpur, Dakshin Dinajpur, Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri and Coochbehar in West Bengal, India and the Country of Bhutan. It was geographically one of the largest districts of Lions Clubs International.

Almost after 20 years of formation, number of Lions Clubs in the District became around 100 and it was felt, by the members to have smaller districts for better administration. As such, in District Conference held on 9th and 1Oth April, 1999 at Darjeeling it was unanimously resolved to bifurcate District 322D into District 322D and District 322F comprising of areas under Dist. 322D:The States of Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, Meghalaya, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram.

Dist. 322F: The States of Sikkim, Revenue District of Malda, Dakshin Dinajpur, Uttar Dinajpur, Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri and Coochbehar in the State of West Bengal (India) and the country of Bhutan. The proposal was approved by Board of Directors of the International Association of Lions Clubs and District 322F came into effect from 1 -7-2000.
